This funding would be used by the Town of Charlemont for its Long Bridge project, which is in need of repair. This bridge is the main connector between Charlemont and Hawley, it allows access to 8A and connects both sides of the town, as well as gives access to the largest employer, Berkshire East. Without additional support, this bridge repair project would consume the town’s entire budget for more than three years.
