This project will fund a sheriff's office and emergency, search and rescue administration facility in northern Hinsdale County. It will also fund a road and bridge shop, a fire station outpost, and workforce housing for a road crew in the rural Upper Piedra Valley.

The 2020 East Troublesome and Cameron Peak Fires burned over 400,000 acres of federal and private lands in Colorado. This project will allow the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Emergency Watershed Protection program to assist communities impacted by the 2020 East Troublesome and Cameron Peak Fires and mitigate burned areas to prevent runoff and erosion, which create flood risks, damage infrastructure, and impact the drinking water supply of hundreds of thousands of Coloradans.
