The requested funding would support curriculum development at the San Juan College School of Energy specifically for careers related to clean hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. The School of Energy has a long history of training the energy workforce to meet market demand by providing broad based knowledge and skills resulting in high-wage, lifetime careers. Beginning in the fall of 2021, the San Juan College Electric Vehicle program will provide training for the many jobs that will be available in the maintenance and repair of EV vehicles. The program will provide EV/Hybrid training for technicians out of the manufacturer training loop and include critical safety training in its curriculum. The requested funding would support specialized tooling, instructor salaries, components, and dedicated teaching space.
