With the requested funding, the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board will provide needed funding for an innovative community solar initiative through Evernorth, a highly-respected and well-established housing non-profit that serves individuals and families throughout the state. Funding would be used to support 1,125 apartments across Vermont, reducing their environmental footprint and providing cost savings that will support lower operating expenses and lower rent prices than would otherwise

This funding will allow the projects’ beneficiaries and affordable housing buildings and their residents to receive the undiluted benefits of solar power generation without loan repayment obligations.
