Along the Del Mar Bluffs, the rail corridor is within feet of the coastline, nested on cliffs that experience annual/episodic erosion. Stabilizing the bluffs is critical to increase the safety and service reliability of the corridor, which has experienced several emergency bluff failures over the past two years alone.
