To support the development of a low cost solar energy program for Northern New Mexico College and surrounding counties.

The project funding will create a 10MW solar array on the college's 107-acre property located near El Vado Lake in Rio Arriba County. It intends to provide this energy to the local electric cooperative, and to major energy users in the region, to include potential stakeholders in Rio Arriba, Los Alamos, Taos, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Colfax, Mora, and San Miguel counties.
