Healthy Babies Project Inc
The proposed project will benefit the community in several ways. The project will provide a sorely needed quality childcare in a center that becomes financially self-sustaining, nurturing children in a loving environment when their parents cannot be with them. Capital improvements to Perennial House, including those with energy and water efficiency, will benefit the surrounding neighborhood, increase property values, and pave the way for further investment. In more than 30 years of service to the District, HBP has benefited an estimated 20,000 DC residents and improved their health by connecting them to primary health care services, overseeing postnatal care, and providing early childhood development services. Over three decades, HBP has earned a reputation as a respected pillar in the community where the poorest families can go for a Christmas toy, a hot meal, a bag of diapers, or simply a listening ear.
