Singing River Health System
Funding for this project will support the buildout of existing space to create up to 20 new hospital rooms, nurse stations and procedure rooms. \n\nThis project seeks to address two problems highlighted and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic: hospital capacity and the healthcare workforce. This project seeks to address both problems by expanding much needed acute patient care capacity with the addition of up to 20 hospital rooms and supporting infrastructure, as well as serving as a training site for healthcare students in multiple fields. Working alongside Singing River\u2019s clinical staff, students training in these rooms (including apprentices in nursing, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, radiology, computer technology and environmental services) are receiving hands on, clinical training in jobs in high demand at every hospital in the United States. This project is an investment in the healthcare system of today and the healthcare workforce of tomorrow.
