Pierce's Biotechnology baccalaureate degree program will provide an entry-point to the wide variety of biotechnology career pathways for college students, individuals already working in the industry but lacking a career certificate or degree; and individuals seeking to change career fields.\nWith outstanding faculty teaching in new state-of-the-art science and technology classrooms and labs, Pierce's programs in science and technology are strong and ready for new growth opportunities. Pierce offers stackable certificates and Associate degree programs in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, NC Machining, and Plant Science- the very subsectors of the bioscience industry in Los Angeles County, Pierce is the entry- point for communities of color, women, veterans, and other historically underrepresented groups to high demand and high wage career fields.\nPierce's Biotechnology baccalaureate program will enable the ethnically diverse population of Los Angeles County to car academic credentials including the baccalaureate vital for entering high-demand, high earnings potential employment in an industry that is experiencing exponential growth, 60% of the current biotechnology workforce has less than an associate degree education, This new degree will enable them to earn the academic credentials essential to skills development, career progression, and income growth in a dynamic program tied to emerging needs of the biotechnology employers.
