The Claflin University Downtown Community Center is designed to benefit the citizens of Orangeburg County and rural surrounding counties. The renovated facility will provide meeting space, learning opportunities, modern and affordable housing, and business development to increase the earning potential of residents. This project is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because the Claflin University Downtown Community Center in the reconstructed S.H. Kress building will provide meaningful programs for
