House of Ruth
House of Ruth is seeking $7.1 million in funding for affordable housing, funding will support the complete renovation and rehabilitation of an aging apartment building that was purchased by House of Ruth in March 2022, and is located at 1815 Minnesota Avenue SE, Washington, D.C. The building currently has 15 units, and the renovation will increase the number of 1-2 bedroom units to 25. This project will expand will expand the number of affordable housing units available in the D.C., a locality that is in dire need of more affordable housing. This project will empower survivors of homelessness and domestic violence, survivors who have already worked hard to heal from trauma and rebuild their lives. As a critical next step on the journey to independence and long-term term economic stability, this affordable housing project will help ensure the continued success of House of Ruth families and future generations.
