This funding will support the purchase of an additional mobile medical clinic to provide cancer screening in rural areas throughout 36 parishes in Louisiana - nearly half the state. Louisiana has a significant cancer burden, and cancer is the second leading cause of death in Louisiana. The incidence rates for all cancer sites combined in Louisiana are significantly higher than those of our national counterparts.
