Francis S. Gabreski Airport
The funding would be used for construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower with a new tower. The existing tower was built in the early 1940\u2019s and is well past its useful life, does not meet current fire life safety or security measures, and is too short for the operations at Gabreski Airport as stated by the FAA. The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because the new tower will be built to meet all fire life safety security measures, building codes, and FAA requirements, as well as to handle current and future aviation demand and support the mission of the Air National Guard based at Gabreski Airport. This will increase safety, efficiency, security, and visual appeal.
