Town of Empire
A function of good governance is the provision of reliable public goods and services, one of the most important of which is access to safe drinking water. For the Town of Empire, the ability to perform this essential function has been compromised by the emergency situation that occurred in March. Due to the size of the community, sales tax revenues are barely enough to provide all services and equipment that are typically required to operate town services, and not nearly enough to afford the costly upgrades necessary to avoid future water emergencies. This project will utilize taxpayer funds to support a disadvantaged community and strengthen aging infrastructure to provide the residents of Empire and its visitors reliable access to clean water.
