Expansion of this facility will increase access to cutting-edge approaches to SCI care. KSCIRC is internationally renowned, and patients relocate to Louisville to undergo treatment through ongoing research and clinical trials. Housing and infrastructure is available to support patients who come to the clinic for treatment and rehabilitation therapy, which for individuals who have been paralyzed for years, takes months or years. Funding assistance for the initial construction and expansion of the clinic will allow for the most innovative and effective treatments in the world to be offered in an integrated location. Simultaneously, building this facility will create tremendous economic value to the region through jobs, attracting top medical doctors and scientists, and by providing high quality and life-changing care that brings SCI patients and their families to the KSCIRC.
