West County Health Centers, Inc.
This project provides funding for installation of solar energy and battery backup at three WCHC sites that are being renovated by WCHC as community-based healing and resilience hubs for disproportionately impacted and underserved community members in the lower Russian River area. It also provides for environmental restoration and creation of outdoor healing spaces at the new Russian River Health and Wellness Center.\n\u2022 To protect our ability to provide care during natural disasters or power outages. The battery backup will provide an additional power source to provide patient care during power shutoffs or other emergencies.\n\u2022 To decrease our carbon footprint. As an on-site source of renewable energy, the solar panels will offset the health center\u2019s overall electricity usage and prevent 108 tons of carbon emissions.\n\u2022 To improve the financial sustainability of the health center. Solar power will save our agency approximately $50,000 per year in operational costs, which can be re-directed to ensure patient access and comprehensive, quality care.
