Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center
The current MATES facility, located at Camp Shelby, Mississippi has a requirement to store two Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCT) equipment. The MATES shop was constructed in 1984 and does not meet current criteria to support the maintenance requirements of these two ABCT’s. Currently, the maintenance bay area is only 44% of authorized space as determined as per RPLANS. The facility requires overhead cranes rated to 30 tons, to support the M1 series vehicles.
