Progreso Latino, Inc.
Progreso Latino, Inc. (PL) is a long-standing and trusted organization that provides critical services to the community. The nonprofit has extensive experience managing federal, state, municipal, and private funds and is well equipped to manage this investment. PL currently receives federal funds for adult education, citizenship preparation, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Additionally, PL receives funding through the Violence Against Women Act, Victims of Crime Act, and Community Development Block Grant program, and is subcontracted as a Senior Health Insurance Program agency. This funding would enable PL to purchase and renovate a new facility that would help the non-profit more effectively expend these funds to provide vital services to vulnerable communities. PL has sustainable funding sources to continue operating its programming, but its capacity is currently limited by the size of its facility. This one-time federal investment would support PL\u2019s transition to a larger space in which they could expand their critically important services to benefit a greater number of community members.
