The Granger Creek Lift Station project is the first phase in Dubuque\u2019s larger Catfish Creek Sanitary Sewer System improvement plan. Adding the Granger Creek Lift Station would increase the capacity of the sewer system and help reduce and prevent future sanitary sewer overflows like the ones that have occurred in recent years, posing serious health risks to local residents. This lift station would allow Dubuque to safeguard the community\u2019s health and enable access to a functioning sanitation system without requiring new pipes and drilling. This is the most cost-efficient option for addressing the sewer system\u2019s challenges. Increasing the city's sewage capacity would also enable Dubuque to continue recruiting more businesses and pursuing economic expansion.
