Virgin Islands Fire Services
The requested funding would be used by the Virgin Islands Fire Services to purchase seven ambulances to augment their current fleet, each of which cost $271,000, respectively. These ambulances will allow for quicker emergency response times and an enhancement of their current emergency medical response capabilities. I am requesting $1,897,000 for this project. This project is a sound use of taxpayer funding because it will provide increased out-of-hospital assessment, medical care, treatment, and emergency medical transport of patients suffering injuries and illnesses. By securing this funding, the Virgin Islands Fire Services will be able to provide emergency medical services more effectively, efficiently and at reduced response times.
