Project Description

Funds will be used for construction activities related to widening West Hill Field Road from 2200 West to 2700 West and for the construction of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, traffic control devices, markings, and more. \n\nThe project location is within a census tract that has been identified as a Historically Disadvantaged Community as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. The widening of Hill Field Road would encourage the development of the Town Center that can further develop a sense of identity and become a center that improves area access to day-to-day needs and amenities while providing for a wider range of housing options. This project would support the demand for retail and other services that continue to increase with population growth. The addition of retail services and amenities would also provide a benefit to our neighbors in Clearfield and Syracuse City. The area is surrounded by establishments that support community placement, including schools, parks, and a fire station. This project would also improve the connectivity of local streets and trails and encourage the use of active transportation. \n\nThe project would be a good use of taxpayer funds because it would encourage development of the Town Center, support the demand for retail and other services, and benefit neighboring communities, including schools, parks, and a fire station by better connecting local infrastructure.
