The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it supports an important community educational connection to a new Global Energy Business Park (Glo Park) which will bring industry, government, and academia together to lead the transition towards clean, renewable, sustainable, and equitable energy solutions while creating advanced-industry workforce opportunities and engaging students of all ages. This innovative public-private-partnership led by the State of Colorado includes partnerships with the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, multiple private sector companies, and nonprofit and philanthropic agencies. This Educational Walkways project enhances the existing trail system in the open space between what will be the north and south campuses of Glo Park. All along the trails would be installations of art and technology to demonstrate the many ways the world is meeting the challenge to transition to clean, renewable, sustainable, and equitable energy.
