Demand for a skilled manufacturing workforce remains high and as recently as August 2020, there were 460,000 open jobs in the sector. In the future, the skills needed by all manufacturers will be shaped to some degree by the rapidly accelerating robotics, 3D printing, and machine learning revolution. The latest wave of technology and engineering innovations representing Industry 4.0 Automation, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) will have the disruptive effect of replacing human labor.
