In Indiana, at the beginning of 2022, approximately 4,000 open nursing positions were available, and it is anticipated the state\u2019s nursing shortage will grow an additional 5,000 open positions by 2031. The pandemic has highlighted significant gaps in the healthcare professions, an issue Valparaiso University intends to address through its efforts to attract students and increase enrollment in its College of Nursing and Health Professions. The College of Nursing and Health Professions \u2013 Skills Lab and Simulation Center Modernization project will upgrade the university\u2019s current instructional space to reflect modern approaches to nursing, using advanced technologies and simulation equipment, to ensure students are trained and ready for employment following graduation.
